Fisher1280x aquanaut produces another silver 2nd use

Had a break in the weather so I hit the lake again today and it's only the second tie out with the new Fisher 1280x Aquanaut. Still getting used to the no pinpointing, no depth, and no tone ID. But I am digging more iffy targets this way and scoring on old silver and tokens. TUIT Token=meaning, I'll get around tu it. A procrastination token. A 1907S Barber dime, and a Playland Pier amusement park token. See my other post in "todays finds" category, entitled "Silver maiden voyage" for the other silver I found at the same local. Happy hunting!

Very good work! Theres some old stuff in there...should be some gold! Wherever theres old silver coins in a swimming hole, or coin targets as big as those tokens...nobody really hunted it hard for gold...stay on those iffy foily scratchy signals...nickels and tabs buddy...I would bet theres some gold in there, and you are the one to find it!

Get a CZ-21 it hasTones,Pinpoint, and Awesome CZ depth! But it looks like you are doing fine with the 1280 x. Nice old coins!

I am LOST at why you don't get depth with the 1280x. I used one for years and loved it. I NEVER use the pinpoint buttons on my CZ-21's. In fact I had First Texas disable them. I do like the tone ID's though. I hit some places with the 1280x a while ago and have gone back over them with the CZ-21's. I can't say as if I have found much deeper stuff at all. ANY machine is good when you get to know it. I guess I am a die hard CZ-20 / 21 fan now.

Nice dime and tokens.

I kinda read it at first thinking no depth as in deep into the ground, then read it again and he lumped pin pointing, depth and tone ID together and I am figuring he meant to say depth meter.

If he did mean no depth, I find that kinda odd since I thought the 1280x held is own in most areas except salt water beaches.

Seems the 1280x would be a super silver and copper hunter and built to last.

As far as the CZ's go, I had 5...now only down to 3. By far my favorite unit.

Can't wait for the lakes to get warm for you so you can post some awesome finds as usual.

For some reason the 1280 has an affinity for silver. More then any metal. I had one with 8" coil and was amazed by how deep I would find things. -Joe

I will second that. It does like silver and it gets better after you use it a lot and get to know its language. For years I couldn't afford to buy a second detector, so I used the 1280 in the water and on land. Made some good finds. It doesn't seem good on small gold unless you hunt with very low discrimination, and if you do, then you hear all the junk too. It seems to do OK on the larger gold, I've found 3 class rings with mine.

By depth I meant, no meter of depth. After I posted I remembered how we can raise and lower the detector after a target is located and get a general idea how deep it is, when you lose the signal raising it up. But if it is a late item like a silver dollar it could be 10" deep and still pick it up. My whites V3i and DFX tell me how deep the target is, I'm spoiled. I do like the 1280x so far, but have many hours to gain experience with it.
