FISHER - Why all the secrecy on F5 coils ?:ranting:

I sent an email to Fisher yesterday to request a F5 PDF manual, and also asked when additional F5 coils would be available, and what coils would be released.

This was their response:

Additional information requested cannot be provided.

I don't know about you guys, but when I see responses such as this, I tend to read between the lines that their not planning additional coils, or are not planning any unless they sell X amount of F5's.

It could be just that plain & simple, the person you contacted just didn't have that information.

They told me there are some in the works, but that doesn't mean that there stopping everything next week to manufacture coils. Gee, I hope they do the T-2 first.

I CALLED AND ASKED FOR AN F-5 MANUAL LAST WEEK. THE LADY WHO ANSWERED WAS VERY NICE AND TRANSFERRED ME TO THE RIGHT PERSON. IT TOOK ABOUT A WEEK TO GET,SO NO COMPLAINTS SO FAR.

I really like the F5 and I am a fuul on F75 user but give me a DD...coil that is and I would love Fisher even more!

Uh the F75 is an 11" DD coil.

Ok what I dont understand is there is now a 4", 8", 10", 11" coil for the F2 but only the stock coil for the F5? Are all these F2 coils just Bounty Hunter coils with Fisher stickers on them?
The F5 is a real nice machine give us some coils. And what about the F75? Give us a larger coil!! Fisher is missing the mark on acc sales. Sure I know the 11" DD coil on the F75 is real
good but some of us want options.

reidman the 4", 8" and 10" concentric coils are the same as the BH coils, but the 11" DD was made for the F4, although it'll work on the F2 and some of the BH detectors.

There is a larger coil available for the F75, although not a Fisher product, it's the 15" x 18" SEF coil.

The F2 and F4 with four coils available, and the F70 and F75 also with four coils available are well covered but only one coil for the F5 thus far, although they state other coils will be available in the future.

What I can't understand is why Fisher won't just indicate which coils will be available for the F5 and approximately when ? Maybe their going to do an F5 Christmas special like they did with the F4 last year (F4 with three coils)
