NEED A LITTLE HELP ON THIS IF YOU HAD TO MAKE A CHOICE BETWEEN THIS THREE FOR ALL AROUND USE--DRY LAND AND BEACH WHICH WOULD BE # 1???THANK YOU.

I just used one in Virginia Beach last week with great results...backlight, water resistant, and deep...granted the CZ-20 is legendary but it doesn't have visual target ID, just 3 tones...and the CZ-3D is a very good beach machine as well but many out there like the CZ-70 for that type of hunting-wet and dry beach and all round...others may feel differently-it's always nice to have several opinions from experienced users especially in this case...HH

With the cz-70 you can notch out iron and coins. It allows you to just hunt for gold if you want to. You won't go wrong with a 70 for all around hunting. Good luck.

I will never sell either one. That being said, I use the 3D at older sites and the 70 at newer sites and the beach. Either machine will serve you well in any situation. The 70 is considered easier to use by many. I take the 70 to the beach because, while not water proof, it does have rubber seals that make it 'splash' proof. If you plan to detect a lot of older sites or do relic hunting, I would go with the 3D. If you plan to spend more than about 30% of your time on the beach, a 70 might be a better pick. My two zinc cents worth.

CZ20 if you go in the water but out of the water its heavy and no meter, rumor has it a CZ21 is coming out...
CZ3D has two modes one for old places and one for newer places such as the beach and heck you dig all anyway.
CZ70 would be my choice because of its superior notching which is not linear and one could concentrate on gold jewelry and leave the clad for the next guy or gal, biggest thing I think is its weather resistant and would handle blowing sand on the beach or even a light rain on the beach or inland..Lighted dial is also a nice feature for low light conditions..

All in all certain models are made for specific tasks and in this case a CZ70 is a no brainer, but certainly a CZ3D would be my second choice and if you go in the water electronics and water don't mix so even if its shallow water a sudden wave or perhaps a slip and an expensive land machine is gonzo so the CZ20 comes into play...but would make a bulky, heavy land machine...
