I like this statement:

Interactions between controls ... In the F70 and F5 which are more recent designs, the interactions between control settings and signals are even more complex, but we did a better job of hiding the details thereby giving the user an improved sense of predictability.

It would be great to hear Dave's thoughts/feedback on the newer F70 and F5 machines.

Thanks for the info. Since the F5 has gain and threshold control this info by Dave is important to use the F5 right.

Hi i have a fisher f70, and set the controls to discrim 5. sens 70. tones 2f speed de. threshold 4.i detect in the south of ENGLAND where i live .i find that these settings are right for the farmland in my area. my latest find is 1696 WILLIAM 111 silver shilling at a depth of about 6 inches in good condition. a great machine
