Is it possible to buy those little velco strips that caome with my detector. II like to get about (4) more of them, They would be great for mounting my detector to my bicycle for transport...

Target, Wal-Mart and K-Mart. Maybe a bungy cord wrapped a few times around the frame might secure your machine better. Good luck. HH :teknetics::minelab:

Try a craft store. They sell strips of velcro in different lengths. If you can't findem let me know I'll get ya some and mail em to ya.

FWIW In the past I bought some 3M self adhesive velcro from the hardware store and attached the hard stuff to my detector once around the shaft. Then I used some of the soft velcro (no adhesive backing) to hold the cable in place. It works nice since it doesn't slide all over but you do have to be careful that it doesn't restrict the adjustment of the rods. Currently I use some nice stuff we commonly use in IT for cable retention. If you have some buddies working in IT hit them up.

We have some at work that are identical to what came with my G2. Other than the fact they are different colors and lengths. They are for bundling wires behind computers and A/V equipment. I believe they came from Radio Shack or Staples.

You would be better off carrying the detector in a back pack. Attaching it to the bike itself would likely shake the detector to pieces. What I do is break the detector down into three pieces. I use electrical tape to hold the cable to the lower rod and velcro straps for the upper rod. This way you should be able to assemble or disassemble the detector in less than a minute.

The velcro straps that Fisher uses are difficult to use. If you can't find any straps for sale you can easily make your own with the 1 inch wide peel and stick velcro strips they sell at hardware stores. You just cut them to 6 inches or so and stick two opposite strips together so that as you wind it around the rod the velcro will stick to itself. That's really the way to go.

They use velcro to strap computer/cat cable together. You can get it in roll's.I work construction and the guys doing networking give me as much as I want.
If you have any computer tech buddys they most likely have some. Its 2 sided they one side sticks to the other.I think 3m makes it.
