:fisher: Infomation of the CZ-3D from Fisher Research Labs. :fisher:

A note from Fisher Research Labs, about recent comments made here on the Fisher forum about possible CZ-3D calibration alignment problems.

We suggest that if anyone has an issue with their unit, that They return it to the factory for analysis and repair.
Fisher Research Labs will stand behind their products, and will continue to do so.

FRL Customer Service Dept.

What they are saying is that if you feel you may have a problem with your CZ-3D, return it to Fisher and let the service department make the diagnostics on it. They are the ones with the proper equipment, and the correct alignment procedures. Fisher has never made this information available outside it

Thank you for the information. It was reading Fisher Intelligence #6 that got me interested in Fisher Detectors. I was currently using Minelabs. I have only been detecting 3 years. First I bought a GB2 to do microjewelry hunting on dry beaches. Later I discovered an old factory site from mid 1800s full of relics,,,buttons, clasps and fasteners. It was full of iron and I stopped finding much after the first 150. Then I bought an F75 and with good instruction on using in iron, I started finding many more...so much so that I sold Explorer SE. I now have over 1000 items. Most are one of a kind and they are valuable. I am still getting things there after 4 months of hard hunting. Now getting more finds with small 75 coil which I just got. Recently 1839 dime, 1848 half dime, 1844 large cent ,1880 IH along with many more buckles. Now I wanted unit I could hip mount and also use at the beach and use for old coins in old locations so I bought a 3D. All of this from reading that free book I picked up at a local store. I have only used 3D twice. First time in relic hole and easily found them with this. Second time at old school playground where I found 1944 Wheat at 8 inches on the first swing using the 8 inch stock coil. You are right, the real world is the best test for the detector. If for any reason I think something is wrong I will send it to Fisher.
Thanks again for your response
Brad

phone me up at 508-457-4805.

Perhaps while speaking with you we can check things out for you.

It's very easy to get wrapped up in what's printed on the net. Detectors work different in different places, and people operate them different also.

Later :)

I really don't feel there is any problems with the CZ3D on the whole and I think the real problem is with detectorists not understanding the concept of the reg. and enhanced mode and why the unit is set up in enhanced mode as it is . In any case send it in to Fisher, contact a local Fisher dealer or speak to a learned CZ3D club member or fellow detectorist and go from there.
Tests I see coming in are buried clad or recently buried old coins which of course will read differently than than ones buried many years that have leached into the ground.
As far as depth dial in ground mineralization, expertise of the detectorist and naturally depths will vary..Tom Dankowski is an expert on CZ's and was instrumental in the design of a CZ3D so one would expect him to get optimum depth and doubt few have his abilities and your depth may vary.
Is a CZ3D for everyone, certainly not, but if your looking for a user friendly depth demon and hunt newer and extremely old areas and you understand its concepts it may be just what your looking for.
I have know Mr. Bill for years and he calls a spade a spade so peruse the following and hope it helps, might want to read Tom Dankowski info on the concept of the CZ3D also before you make any decisions. In any case good hunting....

sites devoid of aluminum trash?..where?..on the moon?..pre 1950's sites loaded with aluminum!..(use enhanced mode, and be able to arm wrestle king kong, and win!)

(h,h!)
