Fisher Impulse

Hi,
I have a Fisher Impulse that I bought back when I got my scuba certification, thinking I'd do some underwater detecting. Does anyone have any knowledge of this detector. Is it any good? Is the technology too old now? What type of target is it most suited for? What's it worth if I chose to sell it?
Thanks,
Dan

I dont own a Fisher Impulse, and have never used one, however, from what I've read, it is a good detector. However, it is a machine that will pick up on everything metal, so real trashy areas could prove a challenge. If you have had it stored well, i.e. an place where it has not got too hot or too cold, and the wiring hasn't deteriorated, it should be fine. The technology is old, but not outdated. Pulse induction detectors are still sold widely by all the major manufacturers and are great for use in salt water. HH

I Googled them a while back. Suposedly people had problems and had to keep playing with one of the knobs. In salt water it should be a great machine if not to many small iron pieces. I guess it will just depend on where you go and if it drives you batty! Good luck with it.
