Fisher ID Edge

In an earlier post I said that I was buying a Fisher ID Excel, I was wrong it is the Fisher ID Edge that I just bought. Anyone have any thoughts & opinions on this detector. Thanks! Steve.

Hello,
I've had my Edge just over a year. I had to send it back after about a month to get the keypad replaced - under warranty. It is a little funny about being tapped near the left side of the battery compartment. I had to route my headphone cord around the right side of the control box - easy enough fix. From others on this site, I've found out that's pretty much normal on all Edges.
It does a really good job on small targets and works great in iron. It is the first ID machine I've owned and it is sure nice not to have to dig a bunch of junk iron if you don't want to. A friend of mine who's been detecting since before I was born borrowed mine a couple weeks back when his M.lab Explorer broke down. He was going to use mine while he sent his back for repair. He used mine one day and ordered a new Fisher instead. He said it restored his faith in the Fisher brand and he was really impressed with it's ability to find small shot and it's pinpoint feature. The Explorer will be his back-up.

Good luck!

You had to route your headphone cord that way after the Fisher reapaired your Edge, doesn't seem like a good fix to me if you have to do that to your headphone cord. Steve.
