if you use the unit for salt water and land, which would be the best choice????considering the water use would only be use only to knee deep hunting?does the cz-20 hunt as good as the cz-70 on land?????

I would pick the 70. Just don't drop it in the water. I use mine all the time in the way that you describe. It has no problems at all in the salt water, going from wet to dry sand, etc., and is more versatile on land than a 20. My 2 zinc cents worth.

Either would work well on a saltwater beach.
However on land a CZ70 is a no brainer as it has a meter and much easier to handle.
Unfortunately on land the CZ20 has no meter, is big bulky, heavy and is locked in the salt mode..
As the other poster stated just don't drop the CZ70 control box in the water as electronics and water don't mix..Actually they make a chest mount for the CZ70 and used this way in shallow water should work well...and on land you could use either as a chest or rod mount..

I have owned both a CZ20 and a CZ7A.The CZ20 is heavy even when hip mounted,no meter, pinpoint button is more stiff due to the water proofing, headphones don't detach, different search coils aren't an option, uses four batteries, and is going to cost more money. The CZ70 will break down very nice, and you can use a 5 or 10 inch coil option, and alway upgrade to better headphones. The CZ70 on land and wading would be my pick.Like Dan said a no brainier.

you are right!..the 70 is more versatile than the 20 in my opinion!..the 70 can be hip mounted,or chest mounted.you can use different size coils with it,and you can also use it in waist deep water too!.what's not to like?..far more versatile!..just a "nasty" detector on coins, and jewelry, either in or out of the water!
