Fisher Gold Bug Special Edition

Have any dealers recieved the Special Edition Gold Bug yet? If so, can you PM me with your web address?

Cheers

Are you going to buy one. Iv been wanting to get one if they are a bang for the buck. Do you have any insights on the gold bug and the gold bug pro?

I would like to know also my dealer told me the pro would be here[in mi.] in july, then i think i seen on this forum someone this fall I am getting upset with this whole gold bug fisher crap, thinking of cancelling my order, maybe go for the S.E. I will call my dealer and get back, unless someone else chimes in.

At this point, I have had enough people tell me that the MXT will be superior to the Gold Bug Pro. So, I am leaning this way now. Perhaps, if Fisher had come out with the Pro by now, thats what I would have. Although, I am still on the fence. I think for myself, it will come down to money. Being that I don;t have a lot at the moment, price is big for me.

I agree with you Dwayne, money is a key factor me right now.Earlier this year i would have bought the Pro.I haven't been able to get with my dealer yet today, but feel i am going to make a decision soon.I know this stupid, but what is the MXT ?

Whites has a metal detector called the MXT. It can be used for Gold prospecting, Coin and Jewelery, as well as Relic hunting. I have had several PM's stating that it would work best and well in mineralized soils.

MXT will work well-
It will not work 'best' and will not do better in mineralized soils-I believe it will be the exact opposite.

Mike

Hi Mike, how do you know all this information about the Goldbug Pro and SE? I have no experience with Whites MXT, but sure would like to know if you operated one. I really am blind on this and appareciate all comments.

Take Care

Sounds a great detector

The G2 is my choose,as it will have the 11 inch DD search coil as standard, and I hear it will be with dealers very soon, hopefully within a month.

Mike knows because he come from a lot of experience with detectors. A avid metal detectorest. He was in charge of a major metal detector distributor in the US for some time. Presently employed as Marketing Director for First Texas Corp. The company that makes the Gold Bug.

The MXT was designed by Dave Johnson for Whites many years ago, (along with Whites Gold Master now in production). Dave is the chief design engineer for First Texas, and has been for some time. So seeing that the MXT & the GMT was designed by Johnson many years ago, don't you think that something he designs in 2010 to go against them will do as expected ?

Exactly very good point Bill

The MXT is a very good detector and can achive good depth, and is sensitive to small gold and silver being a 14 kHz machine.

These new Goldbugs and Teknetics G2 should be red hot on sensitivity being 19 kHZ machines if they can match the depth of lower kHz machines then they are going to be something very special

My doubt is put to rest) I will wait. Maybe by the time it comes out, the Canadian dollar will be back up).

Dwayne2010:

Here is a link from Fisher's web site:

http://www.fisherlab.com/hobby/manuals/GBUGPro(reader).pdf

It says Gold Bug Pro, but I assume it is really the Special Edition, since as far as I know the Pro isn't out yet.
