Hello everyone. Well my F75 made me a believer today. I realized I had an awesome detector when I walked into my backyard. Turned my detector on, put it in JE mode. Sensitivity on 70. Got a target in the 60-70 range..Solid..Pinpointed, dug down well over a foot...Not sure exactly probably around 14-15 inches. Sitting in the bottom of the hole a dirty coin. I take it inside run water over it and Blam-O this is what I find. 1884 Liberty head V Nickel. In my Backyard. Same area as the Seated quarter dug about 2 weeks ago in the backyard. JE mode is a freaking Monster. I still can't belive it. zaxfire69

Nickels usually read around 30 on the Vdi..But i have dug a few that bounce into the uppper 30's into the 40's..I think this one actually just wanted to be found.. The readout was bouncing pretty good. I looked down when it was in the 60's to 70's. There are alot of targets in this particular spot I am getting these coins from..Hopefully it is picking up another one as well. I dug this one and went inside.

I too have notice on deep nickles they read higher for some reason. If i remember right they read like a IH penny would.

I have dug 4 V nickels this year and all 4 have rang up in the 60+ range. 3 of the 4 had either an indian or wheatie in the hole so I figured it was hitting the penny until yesterday. I dug a lone V nickel yesterday at 7 inches. Doesnt hurt my feelings that they ring high. lol. I usually notch out tabs. TMAN...
