Fisher F70 vs Spectra V3

Which would you choose and why? I need to make a choice.. am concerned about the overly-sensitive V3.. price is not an issue between either machine. Have some vision issues but don't know if V3 screen is hard to see in sunlight at a beach.

Do both machines discriminate equally?

Any help will be appreciated. Would the F70 work just as well as the V3? HELP...

What you choose is up to you. If you only take our advise you haven't researched enough and might not be happy with your choice. Have you tried either unit? The V3 is not overly sensitive. No, the F70 is not close to the V3. If anything with the adjustments and color the screen would be easier to see at the beach. This is a big decision for you, take your time. The V3 is a super detector, but different people need different detectors. Rob

If your sign-in name is any indicator of your hunting preference, your choice should solidly be in favor of the V3, otherwise the two are not in the same class to compare, IMHO. The screen on the V3 shows up better the brighter the outdoor light is. No problems on the beach.

IMHO, the V3 will be the best ever detector you will buy. No problems with screen issues, and on the beach so stable. Sorry I can comment on the OTHER detector lol !!!!

This is a V3 forum. You'll only get one answer over and over. :detecting:

That said, I'm not biased at all. I love all detectors and while I haven't owned an F70 I have owned a F75. The ONLY advantage I found in the F75 was it's lighter weight (and well, it's cheaper price but you siad $ was no object) It doesn't do anything the V doesn't and the V does much the Fisher simply won't (reliable target ID being the one).

You mentioned vision problems. One nice thing about the V is that you can increase the size of the VDI numbers making them very easy to read.

One scenario where I MIGHT be happier swinging a F series - in a relic area where I was digging everything and hunting all day.

The Fishers are a good choice for someone who wants a deep hunting machine on a limited budget.
