Fisher F70 or Bounty Hunter Platium Series?

Woodstock

New member
If anyone wants to save 100 to 150 bucks they should check out the $549 Bounty Hunter Platitum Series. They came out first and are a"spittin' image" of the F70.
Bounty Hunter even has a lower series at $299.
It wasn't to long ago that Fisher would have never dreamed of looking like Bounty Hunter. Since First Texas bought them it's beginning to look like there's a hidden plan to slowly remove the name that Fisher was famous for having by making all there new stuff look like higher priced Bounty Hunter clones.
I think they should hire new design engineers and make them appear to be different even if there the same inside even if it's only to save the Fisher name.
This is a private opinion and doesn't represent the opinion of Find's Treasure Forum. Happy Hunting, Woodstock

Retooling cost bucks which would be added on to the price of new detectors and passed onto the consumer..Have to admit the new Fisher is better balanced and lighter along with superior ID which is a plus. As far as the internals imagine there are similarities but many are doing well with the new Fisher and indeed older Fisher design worked well for years...so your call if you have the financial ability to use whatever you wish and certainly understand your concerns....Heck the CZ6 and 1265 are still being used by many and doing just fine and are approx. 15 year old units...

Sure they have the best engineers, maybe I should have new designers. After all Bounty Hunter has many different designs of detectors so when they picked up Fisher they could have redesigned it NOT to look like there Platitum series or anything in the Bounty line up. They have the money and a simple redesign would have kept the name Fisher and look separate making the Fisher it's own machine and stopped the question..is it Fisher or Bounty Hunter?
Only Bounty Hunter knows for sure...and there not telling.....Woodstock

It may look like it in the pictures, but its nowhere near a spittin image. I got Bounty hunter gold for my son thinking wow it looks like a T-2. and its really not even close! The F-70 is closer to an F-75 than any of those far cheaper bounty hunters. You really do get what you pay for so no need to try to save a few bucks. Not in this case.

Since i was one of the first who bought and still owns a BH-Platinum and the new Fishers I can tell you some things about them.

The F70 has a way higher frequency (13 KHz) than the Platinum (8 KHz) and is much hotter on low conductive tatgets (gold....)

The F70 has a ground balance that goes down to salt. The Platinum Gb does NOT go all the way down to salt.

The F70 uses 4 AA batteries that last over 40 hours. The Platinum uses one 9 Volt battery that seems to loose its power faster when used in cold weather.

There are more differences , but the above things alone are worth the extra bucks. Like I sad, I still have the Platinum because it does very well too.
