Hi

I am hoping u guys can help me out here... My fisher F5 has gone little dusty on the inside of the display (box/housing)
and i can

I might want to check about voiding the warranty if you open it up?? No idea there. I bet someone will have an answer here for you or else a email to Fisher maybe.

Ive never looked at the box to tear it apart. I will have to go look at it.

Not really a concern to me as i bought the machine used... so i guess no warranty... anyways i am pretty certain i can sort out the problem my self....
just don

I'm not sure they would make the front so that it
would pop off. People would not like that.

I would take out the screws and start there.

Your right it doesn't look like it comes apart easily.

Anyone take their machine apart????

I believe the F5 housing is the same as a F4 housing. You have to peel off the faceplate to get to the screws, then replace the faceplate with a new one. When my F4 came back it had a new faceplate. I remember a guy from germany asked and that was the answer he got. The screws are under the stick-on faceplate.

do you also remember where he got a new faceplate from?? by any chance.... i really hope those guys at fisher labs answers my e-mail.... i

thanks for the advise... found the 2 screws under the plastic and i was able to leap it off using a screwdriver and a flat knife....
there

the reason they made it like they did was to keep people from taking it apart-does the term no user components inside mean anything to ya.you take it apart short something out and try to deny opening it.have installed things in the past with tamper proof screws and even marked location of things still people mess with them and try to put the blame on you instead of realizing they are the asshole who shouldn't have been in there in the first place

In my experience, I have found that if you mess with things, your likely to mess them up.

Seems like what woodwizard was saying is that Fisher made it in such a fashion as to discourage people from getting into it and messing it up and then trying to turn it in on warranty.

Seems to me, he was participating in the discussion and nothing in his posting was directed at you.

As you said "I don

I disagree, its his machine he can do with it as he likes. Theres no warranty so rip it apart. I thought woodwizzards comments were pointed directly at the poster.

Sorry, but I disagree with you...
All he said was the company goes to lengths to keep people from messing with the machines.

"try to put the blame on you instead of realizing they are the @#$%& who shouldn't have been in there "

The YOU he is talking about is the manufacturer and the THEY is the people messing around in the machine.

it should have read:(IMHO)
try to put the blame on the manufacturer instead of realizing they are the ones who should not have been in there....

Feel free to disagree... aint gonna make no difference in my life.....

Me, personally, I feel cleaning dust out of a machine is a very silly idea--
It is his machine, who really gives a care, anyway..?

Not important don't worry about it. I agree, There would
have to be major dirt before I would take a machine
apart. To each their own I guess.

Interesting to know what happens when he takes
it apart.

actually i have successfully cleaned it.... as mentioned before i really think... you guys should start your own topic in the forum
if you wan
