Ground Balance on the F4 can be done quicker and easier in the True All Metal Mode with Threshold by just pumping the coil up and down
and turn the GB control until the detector is silent.

On the 3300 you have to GB in the Pinpoint Mode and after every push to the ground you have to raise the coil to waist level, than press pinpoint again until you
find the setting where the detector is silent.

The F4 keeps its discrimination setting after pinpointing, the 3300 doesn't.

The F4 has the larger armrest.

If the F4 has the better sensitivity and target separation as claimed in the field test has to be proved by using the same coil on both detectors.

It is easy to see that the Fisher F4 has some advantages over the Discovery 3300. I'm going to buy the F4 and compare it to my 3300 to see if it has more depth
and better target separation. For the lucky guys who got the 3300 for 112$ or less at Radio Shack that value can't be beat.

That's it for now..i'll be back when i have the F4.

Hi Andy

I did check the detectors coil for coil. There will be no doubt about the depth, the faster seperation as soon as you get one, and check it yourself. :)

Have a nice day.

i didn't know you tried both detectors with the same coil. That's good news. I have no doubt that an "updated 3300" with a faster recovery speed and that new All Metal mode can scare some more expensive detectors. I just hope the F4 will be available soon.

Have a nice weekend,

Andy
