I am getting frustrated ,I have what is a good beep for any silver ? all I have found is clad and a lot of nails but no silver. :surrender:

Theres a lot of variables if you are just after old silver coins...you can read posts on all the different forums here from guys that hunt for them. You will start to see a pattern develop in their methodology, or, you will see how some fellows, (Aquachigger) tripped across 7 pounds of them in a shallow stream last year! If you are out swinging, you will find at least one eventually, and I bet it will be shallow. Try to find a style of hunting that suits you, and put in the time to learn about your machines language, and pay attention to location, (why is this item here?) If you are shooting sports fields, you WILL find silver jewelry, If you set a goal to dig 1000 pennys, and 1000 pulltabs, you will learn pretty quickly what is what, and you may just find a gold ring along the way. Theres nothing wrong with becoming a Super Clad Grabber, thats a skill all in and of itself. Detecting for anything should not be a frustrating experience, it should be more of like a riddle quest...ask yourself what will I most likely find here? and then go and find it...its a study of human behavior more than anything...just chill a little and concentrate on the learning curve, the more targets you locate in the shortest time possible and how well you get at looking for and reading locations is what it takes. These forums will cut down on your learning curve immensely. Good Luck, Allen!

Mudpuppy said "it's a study in human behavior", he is right on target. You need to hunt places that go back to the days silver was in circulation, but just as important, you need a place where people congregated and were exchanging money at that place. Do your research, old picnic areas, amusement parks, church gatherings, etc. they are all good places to hunt. If your finding wheat cents, you'll be in the right area, be persistant. I dug 2 silver dimes last week at a park i've been to twice now, I knew the park went back to the 30's and even though I dug over $10 in clad, no silver had showed till then.

Yeah I know I still love everything I find even the nails lol I am learning what sounds are what, and would love to share my finds on here ,I have been old park that are not parks anymore and train depot that are not used and not even there, got that down ,,,my F2 was just giving me beeps that I thought was good and turned out to be cans or pull tabs lol Thanks all ..I will find the good stuff I know I will and if I don't oh well still happy with the time out.sorry if I sounded like a little kid ( I was frustrated).
