Fisher F2 is out !

I picked mine up right at the factory. The dealers who preordered should have them this week because they started shipping them Friday or Today.
Better call a Findmall sponsor dealer to order yours today to make sure you get one. The deal is so good that i expect that they can't make them as fast as they sell.
$ 199 for a detector like that with two coil and an extra lower stem can not be beat at this time. That value is even better than the Ace 250 from Garrett.
My first test show that the F2 with the 4" coil on it is deeper and faster than the Ace with the sniper coil. The F2 has 100 target numbers and the Ace has just 12 target zones to put a target in.
The F2 is not only the better deal, it is the better detector.

ANDY:

I know its probably too soon to ask but what do you think now of the F2?

What has been left out when you compare it to the F4?

Is the 0-99 as accurate as the F4?

Is this strickly a coin hunter or can you go jewelry and relic mode?

Regards
Robert

Andy,
While you were at the factory, did you by any chance see any info on if the CZ-21 will be shipping out to dealers soon? Thanks.

but they seem to know me and hide anything when i show up,hehehe.
I didn't check on the CZ 21, because i don't dive. Just give them a call to check if they are ready to ship.

Read a few of my posts above and you know what i think about it. Put it this way: If i wanted to buy a metal detector for Xmas for a friend for about $200 it would be the F2.
A few month ago we had to pay about $ 400 for a detector like that with an extra small coil. Didn't we always ask for large numbers on a display ? This detector has them.
I always wanted a small coil right from the start....for free right now !
This detector is going to make a lot of guys happy.

To be honest, i just had time to use it in my backyard. It gets dark to early now after we set the clock back last weekend. After next weekend I'll know more.

You can use it for relics, jewelry, coins. You decide the disc and notch setting and what you find. Use it with the 4" coil around old houses and you will find stuff the "big coils lover" left for you due to target masking.

What has the F4 over the F2 ?

- a 11" DD coil (better depth and ground coverage)
- All metal Auto Tune mode (better for relics and small gold)
- Ground balance for the All Metal Mode ( more in ground depth)
- 11 target categories (F2 has :geek:

Hope that helps,

Andy,NM

I posted some stuff on www.fisherf75.com . Just click on the Fisher F2 link

I got 9.5 inches on a quarter, 9 inches on a nickel and dime in air tests. Don't forget it has just an 8" coil. Depth is a little better than the Ace 250 but the F2 is more stable, pinpoints better, has 100 numbers for the target. What i still like about the Ace better is that it uses 4 AA batteries and the F2 uses two 9 volt batteries.

Andy,NM

Yes, it does help. Sounds like a great little detector. Let us know what you think in a week or so.
Would be interested in your comparison of the F2 over the Ace, its strong points and weak points. Sooo let us know.

hello!.andy!
do you know if the f2 has the same fast recovery circuit as the f4,or even the f-75 in trash.utilizing the 8" coil?..did you try it in trash yet?

regards!

Yes, the F2 has the same speed as the F4. I hope to do some detecting at this weekend with the F2 with the 4" coil.

Andy,NM

Does the F2 have a modulated tone? Or does it give the same pitch and sound on a shallow or deep target? Does the shafts have cam locks? What are the target zones? What is the ID number on a nickel and some pull tabs?

Andy, you mentioned that you got your F2 at the factory in El Paso. Do they have a store there where anybody can walk in and purchase anything Fisher or BH makes? Just wondering........as always my meter reads "lessthanzero"

No, they don't have a store at the factory. I told my dealer that i want to pick up my detector at the factory, because it doesn't make sence that they ship it to him and he ships it to me.
My dealer arranged the pickup at the factory for me. Saved shipping costs for him and i had it first (you know me i can't wait for new detectors).

Andy,NM

Yes, the shafts have cam locks.

The target zones are:

Iron, Foil, nickel, tab, zinc, dime, quarter, and + (for everything over quarter)

The targets come in louder and long if the target is on the surface. Deeper ones come in quieter and shorter.

Andy

thanks for the input!..i read your new message!..recovery speed is everything these days,as just about everywhere you hunt, old or new is covered with layers of aluminum crap!..in my opinion, you really dont need a depth demon,as i will bet the ranch that MOST of the goodies are still within the 6 to 7" depth, even in dense trash!
