Fisher F2 Depth Guage

Hi. I am new to MD and just bought an F2... The manual that came with the detector does not explain how the depth indicator works, other than stating that it shows the depth in inches...The guage is divided into 3 sections. I am unsure how much each section represents. Can someone please shed some light on this for me? Thanks.

The depth gage is not very accurate; one bar would be surface, 2 bars, medium depth, maybe 2-4 inches
and 3 bars deeper than 4"... This has been my experience so far... When pinpointing the depth is shown in numbers,
but mine seems to be most accurate when I apply x 2 to each number.... 0 is obvious, 1 is about 1 to 2..
2 is about 2 -4 inches, 3 is about 4-6 inches and 4 on mine is beyond 6 inches...

I really don't pay much attention to the depth meters; the volume is depth specific and you can usually tell if
it's a surface target by the sound... A coin on the surface will be loud, and one at 3 inches will be softer
and another at 6 inches will be even more soft...

Good luck with your F-2.. It's a fun machine to use.... HH, Jeff
