Fisher F2 Batteries

The manual for the Fisher F2 states, "only use alkaline batteries". Why can't i use "Lithium" or rechargeable batteries that are 1.5 volts?

Correct me if I am wrong but doesn't the F2 take 9volt batteries?-------------IB

Includes two 9 volt alkaline batteries
•Operating frequency: 5.9 kHz

I think the manual is really stating don't use "heavy duty" batteries. Rechargeables should be just fine.

I have been using a decent brand of Ni-mh 9vs for 6 years in my F2. Stay away from no name eBay specials.

Rechargeable batteries work fine. I use EBL 6F22's and never had a problem.

x1 I have had no problem either; mine seemed to last as long as the store bought one .been using them for about a year and a half now.

They are the 280's. They have never run out, but I charge them after every day's use. I probably would not have to do that, but why chance them running out when I am in the middle of nowhere.
