Fisher F 70 Chatters

I took the F 70 out for a hunt in a bark box, and as I approached the box the F 70 started acting up. I ground balanced it and started Swinging. I was Blown away at what it started doing. It was going from one target to another so fast it looked like it had most of the targets on the display covered. I lower the Threshold to minus 3 and then to minus 5 trying to quite it down. I lowered the sensitivity and continued to hunt. I Think this bark box must be built over an electric box or something as I have never seen any metal detector ID things so fast. I did manage to get a lot of change out of it while I was there. Need to figure out how to quit it down more as I do believe from the things I found today it has not been detected much.

I have a couple of spots close to me that do the exact same thing............both are close to sub stations though. By one though....a peculiar thing happens. The interference come in bursts. it will be quiet for a minute or two....and then interfere like crazy for a minute or two. Must be some kind of pulse through the lines. You probably have a big old conduit under the playground thats messin with ya. How do you like the 70 so far? Sounds like it gets em even when you are fighting the interference at the site....... Usually....just holding the coil close to the ground helps....but that wont work if its UNDER the ground!! maybe the shooter coil will help?? Streak!

I've got one "bark box" that is situated just a few feet from a school wall and I simply cannot use my F 75 there until I get well out into the bark box and away from that well. It must be were all the electrical stuff is harbored for the school. HH jim tn
