Fisher Excel vs F4

Hi all, I want to upgrade from my F2 ( which I'll be giving to my son) to either the F4 or the Excel. In your opinions which detector is better. We mostly search parks and freshwater beaches. Pros and cons of both machines would be appreciated. Thanks.

keep the f2,and buy another one for yourself!..it will do everything the other two detectors will do!..why give it up?

I like my f4, I'm still a little confused on pinpionting the DD coil just need more practice but I like the round coil.
never used the F2 or theExcel:pulltab:

I traded an ID Excel for an F4. The Excel has no notch which I am used to . Also the F4 is very light. I enjoy hunting with the F4. The Excel is a good detector ,but I prefer the F4. I have eleven other detectors and I hunt with the F4 quite often....Jack

I've never had a F4 but do have the Excel and it is a great little machine. It is a great coin finding outfit. I own three fisher machines, Coinstrike, CZ-3D, and the Excel. Fisher makes awesome metal detectors!

I have a Excel. I mean I had an Excel ,my 9 year old son found his first 50 cent coin with it about 6 weeks ago.No longer wishes to use his Bounty hunter. I believe he said Dad I'm to old for that thing . I want to use the gold one. IE Fisher Excel .( Long story short) I sold my Minelab XS Pro. And now we have 2 gold ones Excel & Coinstrike! We also hunt parks, thought about buying an F75 But the wife said if I did I would be sleeping at the same place I hunt! I live in Colorado and the lows at night are still around 30. And I am getting pretty good with the Coinstrike!

The F4 is a great turn on and go detector, my wife uses mine now, and she finds just as much as I do with my DFX (im still learning) in the places we hunt. The F4 has preset GB (in disc mode) same as the F2, I would go with the F5, so you have more control over ground conditions.
