fisher edge questions..please help

im considering an id edge,but have a couple of questions...

1. how is the depth on the edge? (compared to say,an excel)

2 anyone use the edge on the beach? how did it go?
 
it was designed to be "significantly deeper" than the Excel, & most everyone who's tried one will see it is deep. Close to a Coinstrike.
Ran well for me on the beach. In wet salt sand I had to turn down sensitivity a tad, which is normal....
