Fisher CZ6A Original Price???

New member
I am thinking about buying a CZ6A from a local guy and was wondering how much these cost new? He wants $350.00 for it. I want it for gold nugget hunting and was wondering if this would do the job for me. I live in gold country CA. Placer County. Any info would be greatly appreciated.

I think when I bought mine new back in the early 90's it was around $700-750. If you only have $350 to invest in a detector and the CZ6a is in new condition I would get it. BUT...if you will only be using it for prospecting, there are probably other detectors geared for that. If you will be using it for other applications like coin hunting, relic and beach hunting then it's a no brainer....GET IT.

It is truly one of the all around great detectors when you get to know it.

Was one of the highest priced detectors around and surely stood the test of time..Been a while but MSRP was around $895.00 and probably sold for around $750 or so depending where it was bought..Certainly one of the best and deepest silver coin units around and excells at salt water beaches however..I would look into a gold nugget machine if thats what your after..Living in the coal region all we have is coal nuggets but imagine your multi line dealer should be able to help..I know if I lived in gold nugget country surely would be using a gold machine..Yep if the unit is in nice shape the CZ6A for that price is a good deal but again would recommend a good gold nugget machine...

I wouldn't necessarily think original selling price would have too much bearing upon the present value of something.

Thanks for the info. I'm obviously new at this and I think I would like to do both Nugget hunting and coin/jewelry hunting also. I'll get the CZ6A. If you know of a great nugget machine I'd appreciate a recommendation.
Thanks

If you need any tips let us know.

Also, I like your forum name Riverrat. I was born and raised in South Trenton, NJ, which is right along the Delaware River and everyone who lived in the area were called Riverrats !
