This was a Sunday project.
I am planning on using a CZ6 control box to house the PCB for the metal detector I am building.
The CZ uses two 9 volt batteries, my detector uses 12 volts.
Decided to use a 12 volt Li-ion rechargeable battery instead of a AA battery pack that wouldn't fit right anyways.
Weight difference with the mod over the AA pack is 1 ounce.
Took my Dremel tool with a cut off wheel and cut around the edge of the CZ6 box battery compartment lip.
Next found some scrap stainless steel sheet cut and bent it to shape using hand tools. No access to power tools except
for a drill and Dremel today. This is the cradle for the Li-ion.
The cradle was mounted into the CZ6 box.
The battery slid in place a hole drilled on the box top to see the blue light when the battery is turned on.
Battery door cover (home made, since I haven't acquired the real thing) had two openings cut out. One for the on/off switch
and the other for the charger plug.
I will probably order several more of these batteries and place them in a small housing under the armrest.
