Fisher CZ-5 Question

I have an opportunity to purchase a CZ-5 that needs repaired. I am just curious as to how much repairs could be for this unit. The owner seems to think it is circuit-card related. He has tried different coils. It will hit on metal but it is making erratic noises. He has replaced the speaker--no help. If anyone could chime in on a good price point for purchasing, I would appreciate it.

I think you can send to Fisher and unless it is shot, they will repair it almost for free or very little. Make sure you are using a CZ coil. Not all coil work on CZs. Good luck if not to much i would get it.

Thanks. I was reading something regarding a lifetime warrany with the CZ5. Not sure if it would apply in this instance.

Guys, CZ's ONLY Have/Had a LIFETIME Warranty for ORIGINAL Owners and they ARE NOT Tranferrable!! Also, I cannot swear to it, but I BELIEVE the LIFETIME Warranties
ONLY APPLIED to CZ's that were Manufactured by the ORIGINAL FISHER Metal Detector Co. Of Los Banos, Ca., and NOT the current Manufactures known as FIRST TEXAS
Metal Detectors!! Also, I DEFINITELY DO THINK that First Texas will Fix your CZ-5 for NO Charge or at a CHEAP Price!! Good Luck, Les Robinson

Thanks, Les. One of the battery tabs is broken off. I ordered one yesterday. Hoping this might fix the problem.
