Fisher CZ-3D + multi frequency

New member
I have just got hold of a CZ-3D as a partner machine to my Quattro.
Can somebody explain to me the reason for the multi-frequency transmit on this detector.
Since it then receives signals on 5 and 15kHz, what is the point of transmitting other frequencies that it doesn't analyze the data from?

Lower frequency 5 KHZ is better for high end and silver coins while 15 KHZ is better for lower end coins such as the nickels and more sensitive to lower end gold rings and such. Basically best of both worlds..I think your getting mixed up with the multiple frequencies of your Quattro...

Email me: rdcottrill at netzero.net and I'll email you my collection of posts on the 3D. They'll cut down your learning curve.

I am aware of the 5 and 15 kHz on the CZ's,
but Fisher claim that the CZ-3D transmits multiple frequencies, and then it analyzes the data received on 2 of them (5 & 15).
Just really wondered why? Why not just transmit on 5 and 15 kHz?
Anyway, not that important.
Have been out with the CZ the last 2 days, and am very impressed - you need to keep the sensitivity down though - found that one out yesterday.

Fisher and Minelab are different technology with Fisher having 2 basic freq's and Minelab having many. Might want to talk to a Fisher Tech. for an explanation...indeed tough to understand advertisements as their wording is confusing at best...Yep even at a low number(sens) depending on your ground CZ's go deep...

Do you think you could also send it to me? I've had my machine for a year but am still having issues now and then. Thanks Mike
