Fisher CZ -21 versus Fisher 1280x Aquanaut

Hi all
Can somebody explain to me the major diffrence between these 2 detectors. The Aquanaut is almost half the price of the Cz-21

1280X is single frequency VLF detector (2.4 KHz) that only runs in discrimination mode, has single tone beep.

CZ21 is dual frequency VLF detector (5 KHz and 15 KHz) with signal processing to analyze the results from both frequencies. Has adjustable ground balance, and operates in either discrimination mode or all metal. In discrimination mode it has a three different beep tones to help ID targets.

CZ21 is recognized as being in the top tier of all detectors for use in salt water and over wet sand at salt water beaches, and it performs equally as well in fresh water.

1280X can be used in salt water and over wet sand at salt water beaches but most probably gets best performance in fresh water conditions. (I say most probably because I have not used a 1280X and have not seen how it does on salt water beaches with black sand and other variable conditions).

Tvr pretty well covered it but would like to add the multiple tones of the CZ gives one an idea what area of the spectrum before you dig but on the beach or in the water I would dig all. Also a better unit for small gold jewelry.

I have used the 1280X and for years has been a top (fresh water) unit but gets awful noisy in a wet salt sand enviroment depending on the particuliar salt water beach you are hunting...

Having the CZ20 for several years, it is a fine all around, is the best of the salt water VLF machines out there, and does a very good job in fresh water, and an excellent dive machine. When in fresh water I use another brand that is lighter, thiner coil, easier to swing through the water, very sensitvie on gold, but in the salt it's always a CZ, much deeper in the salt than single freqency units, and depth is essential in the shifting sand of salt water. The 21 should be as good as the 20.
