FISHER COINSTRIKE VS. FISHER ID EXCEL

why do you guys seem to prefer the coinstrike over the id excel? Is it the extra adjustability of the coinstrike? Is the extra money it cost worth it?
Thanks,
John B.

I think it just seems that way because this forum was here already & built up as a Coin$trike forum. Many of us do own both machines. The Excel is the new edition & not as many folks have joined into the fray yet. I use both machines equally. Both are awsome in trash. Yes, the C$ is a bit deeper & has more "options" like auto tracking, but the Excel is lighter & better balanced. Excel numbers are also tighter so you don't hear any +51 hot rocks. What's really cool, that I had not been utilizing lately, is the Excel's ability to turn down disc to -36, which gives you in essence an all metal mode with 4 tones. <img src="/metal/html/shocked.gif" border=0 width=15 height=15 alt=":shock"> Does any other detector out there have all metal with tones?

The GTI (garretts) have two tones in allmetal but not four. Thanks , Still plugging away with the coinstrike, gonna try it hard on Friday.
