Fisher Coinstrike Compared to Sovereign GT, spectrum xlt, and others

Hi,

I just bought a coinstrike off this forum and am still anxiously waiting for its arrival. My buddy has a sovereign GT after me recommending him to buy one when I had an explorer xs. He also has a whites classic ID as a backup detector. My Dad has a whites spectrum XLT Which I'm not too impressed with. Seems like the Classic Id kicks its butt, could be a faulty coil or something. Well times caught up with me and I had to sell the xs for some fast cash. Now I'm getting back into the hobby and just got a good deal on a coinstrike. I was wondering what kind of detectors are comparable to the coinstrike and what I'll be able to expect from the performance. I thought the spectrum would be really good but with playing around with if forever it does not impress me at all. I owned a few sovereign xs-2a pros, a tesoro bandito II, a garrett gtax 550, a couple whites classic id's, a few explorer xs's, a bounty hunter quick draw II, the spectrum xlt, now my dads. The minelabs blow them all away in my opinion, I found so much more with them than anything. The sov loved nickels, the xs loves deep indians and silver dimes. I have never owned a fisher and was wondering how the coinstrike stacks up to these detectors and others. I know it has a learning curve but so did the explorer so no big deal for me. Is my dad and buddy going to kick my butt with the xlt and sov gt or am I going to surprise them?

Some people do very well with the Coinstrike, but there is a learning curve. If you are going to compete with others in the field with a new detector you'll come up short on finds and confidence.I have used most of the detectors you listed each are different and take time to learn.Enjoy learning a new detector and the Coinstrike may work out.
