Fisher Coinstrike 5 25 99 settings question

Hello, i found an article written by Bill Ladd referring the setting up the Coinstrike he spoke of how well it worked for him and i am curious if anyone had experience following this thanks,

Michael

The settings he mentioned are Sensitivity 5, Threshold minus 25, and Iron Disc 99. The detector would run smooth at those settings because the overall sensitivity of the detector is reduced. I usually run mine with Sensitivity at 10, Threshold 0, and Iron Disc close to 0. So my detector is setup more sensitive but my soil is quite mild and I have no problem with higher sensitivity settings. If you are new to the CoinStrike then his settings would be good to start with and later you can set it up more sensitive to gain a little more depth.

Yes that's the setup, i have used the factory settings worked good for me, finding coins in an area i hunted with a different detector. I am looking forward when some of the snow melts to get out and try the new set up, the article Bill had written also mentioned sweeping faster, i really like the C$.

WoW! that's FULL throttle "jabbo"!
There's not very many places you can run ANY detector wide open especially the C$.

5 25 99 would be good in about any place (just not good for relic hunting)
I usually run my sensitivity around 6-7 threshold -5 and iron disc @ 99 and nothing more than foil notched out, sometimes I don't notch anything out, so my settings looks like this,

7 10 99 and nothing notched out. (now that's with the standard 8" coil) with the 5.5" coil I turn the settings up a bit, 9-5-99.

Well, the C$ isn't much different then other detectors in that aspect, if there is much EMI around and your using the 8" coil or larger then it will get unstable and start false'in. The C$ has the ability to run hotter than many places will allow it to due to interference, but the extra helps a lot with the smaller 6" coil.
