:fisher:anybody have any feed back 0n the AUTO-TUNE ON CZ-5??:fisher:

It goes deeper and just covers more ground with each sweep.With an Analog unit that you have easy to run in autotune and with one click of knob you are in Disc..Imagine it would work well in an old area thats not too junky lest you get a hit on every swing. I have experiented with it over the years and found deep silver, perhaps not for everyone but does work well in the above fashion in relatively clean ground..

I seldom run autotune except during set up of ground balance. Agree that I'd use it in cleaner areas. I have read that those who prospect or look for meteorite pieces might run autotune most of the time and would then dig most everything the detector identified, but I haven't been prospecting yet.

Auto Tune is where you decide those deep iffy signals. It's your best bet for deep, co-located targets. It's also the way to hunt those very trashy sites with high likelyhood of coinage. Listen only for the faint deep targets then dig those. I've used it and found deep coins very near to nails and other junk that simply overtook the good target in ID mode.

ElginTim,
In the trashy sites what coil do you use and are you working the coil really slow in autotune to isolate things?

Hi semperf161;
Auto Tune works best on very lite trash. I use it on trails and open fields and wet salt water beaches. In auto tune on wet salt with switch in salt mode it doesn't give false signals. I use 10 1/2 in. coil most of the time on the beach. It is wide and deep. There is a learning curve. Try it you'll like it.
