Kind of a silly question but I would appreciate the help. Just bought a Fisher coil advertised as 5 inches. I'm going to use it on my 1266X. Coil comes, works fine so it is definitely a 1200 series. I put covers on ANY coil I own so I looked on Ebay and there are some 5 inch coil covers. OK, now I measure the coil (which has Fisher printed right on the coil) and it is 4.75 inches across.
Question. Are there 4.75" coil covers that were made for Fisher or is it just that coil covers for a Fisher 4.75" coil (measured 3 times) were not ever manufactured? Or does it even matter, meaning that a 5 inch cover will fit fine and snug on a coil that measures a 1/4 inch less than the cover?
