Iam new to the forum,what i would like to know is a fisher 1270 with a stock coil as deep as a 1266x with a 10.5 coil.thanks very much.
 
I have the 1266 and really like it. I have no expereince with the 1270. Perhaps this link can guide you to the info you are seeking. Oppie

Bill,The specs are so close on these two detectors the 1266 with a 10.5 vs 1270 with a stock 8inch for depth.My money would be on the 1266. Ron
