Fisher 1270

From what I've read the 1270 is like a 1266 with the bugs worked out. I would be using it for an all purpose detector but I'm looking for a deep detector. I was looking at the garrett gti 2500 at first but ive about decided the 1270 is a better depth detector. I have a fisher gemini 3 if i need to really get deep and im not convinced that the gti 2500 with the depth kit,, cant remember the name of the kit but i dont see it going any deeper.

The 1270 is a very deep detector!! You will be very suprised how deep it goes and also you can hunt in all metal if need be and get a little more depth. The coil selection is pretty good to. I use a 12" hothead on mine to get that little bit more depth the stock 8" coil is great also the 10-1/2" coil gets down there to!!!

Unfortunately the 1270 doesn't have the ergonomics of the 1266 but with the big control box and doing away with the dual disc and batterries under the arm rest one wonders if its an improvement or a step backward but is a deep unit and has the ability to cut down on the noise with a silencer mode.
The GTI 2500 has an all metals mode that ID's and goes deep in this mode but is noisy as it is all metal and picks up all targets...other wise its just a medium depth unit that is boxy for long hunts...

The only benefit i saw to buying the 1270 is that i cant still get it new, and reviews I've read said the snap cracle isnt there. So if you guys was looking for a good deep detector for relics and coins what would u purchase?

I have been hearing for about a year now that FT is discontinuing the 1270, starting to wonder how true that rumor is.

The 1270 had it's own set of bugs and I don't know for sure if they have fixed the problems or are the waiting until they come back. I had to send mine back but I got it used so I don't know the whole story, except they fixed and had it back home in less than 2 weeks.

I don't know all the relic hunters, but starting up on the dollars, 1265x, 1266x, 1270, CZ-3D, and the F75Ltd with the boost processor.

I don't believe that's true, the 1270 is a super deep detector on both coins and relics, been running mine for a few years and and its a power house, always use it where the F-75 is to noisy. So many setups it's hard not to get great performance, the you use it and understand what its telling you the better the finds are going to be. And what would I purchase would be the 1270 all over again.

Totally disagree, no way a mid range machine.

Better.

I love my 1270 it's one the best none metered machines I have used and I plan on keeping it for a long time!!
