Fisher 1266 XB - How does the box come apart?

KY Relic Hunter

Anyone know how the box comes apart on a Fisher 1266 XB? I just bought a used Fisher 1266 XB and it has a short in the headphone jack, and i want to open the box.

Anyone ever taken one apart and know how the box opens up?

Look at the cable connector on the back of the housing,
See the two little screws one on each side?
Those do not on the connector!
The connector is mounted to a metal box/frame that is part of the electronics.

Remove those two little screws and push on the connector, the electronic boards, controls, and front panel all slides out the front of the housing.
Be careful when removing the electronics because you have a couple of wires that connect to the toggle switch and if yours has the onboard charging jack.
These wires has enough length to get in and disconnect them.

Hope that helps.
