How old are these 2 machince ? And are they any good , what can they be compared to . Are they deep units
? TY for any input. GS

If i was to buy these 2 detectors , what would a good price be. I don't want to pay to much , these would be for family to use. TY GS

IMHO these are both highly underrated classic units that do what they do very well. They are not high priced being underrated. Any machine's price is subject to condition and what seller and buyer are willing to agree to. Loads of people sell on line crap that is not worth shipping cost, but they play dumb and play off our natural desire to get a great deal. If the seller is unwilling to stand behind his performance and condition claims (giving a reasonable period for buyer to verify) don't do it. IMHO.
This is a lesson I paid a lot to learn...

Look for Bill Ladd's field test on the ID Excel and there are several field tests on the 1236x2.
Wasn't that the ID-Edge?
to which I have the very Prototype unit he used during that testing.
Now he may have also field tested the Excel, I'm not sure about that.

Mark I chased down the field test by Bill Ladd on the ID Excel. You can see it at Kellyco in their field test archives It is a 16 page review and very informative. Ken

I have seen the ID Edge in mint condition go as low as $225.00 with a single coil. I have seen the Excel for as low as $150.00 with one coil.
I had two ID edge units at one point.

The 1236-X2 is still a very competitive detector to use in the field.I've used the ID Excel,Edge and Coinstrike my opinion the ID Excel worked best for me.IMHO the 1236-X2 is a much better than the ID Excel. Even though I use Minelabs my 1235X will remain in my arsenal, which is very close in performance compared with the 1236-X2.Good Luck HH Ron
