Which detector goes deeper , the 1236 or the ID excel? Can you hipmount a ID excel.

Hi Jerry:

I'm not positive on the depth thing. Around here the 1236 was around a 7-8" detector on coins with the deeper ones being soft whisper signals and you had to keep the disc down to the nickel level with the sensitivity set above the preset mark or else you would lose the signal. It can vary of course, the Excel I used last fall hit those depths with more solid signals and very good ID. I think, but not sure, that the Excel should get 8-9" in most areas and the notch system won't lose depth like turning up the disc on the 1236 does. I just did not happen on any deeper coins when I tried one out last fall. Got another ID Excel on the way and I have several sites I did not get to with the first one to see what it will do depthwise.
