Fisher 1236-x2 Ground Ballance?

According to Fisher Labs' spec sheet for the 1236-x2, the 1236 has an automatic ground balance. Does that mean the machine configures the ground balance for you while you hunt? Or is it another way to say 'factory preset ground balance', because if I remember correctly, I recall some one saying the F 1236-x2 had a factory preset ground balance.
Thanks,
The Buck

As far as I know, it is preset. Lest you are worried about it and have the worst of soils, it seems to work well just about anywhere.
I was comparing it side by side to a T-2 this past weekend, supposedly one of the hottest, deepest relic detectors out there. The 1236 kept up without a problem.
I would like to see a circuit description/schematic, however, and someone who has added a GB.
So far, the 1236 doesnt seem to get that sort of treatment like the many Tesoros do.

I found two things the manual says:
In the quick set up section:
"As soon as you set the DISC control, your 1236-X2 is automatically tuned and ground adjusted for searching."

and then later in the manual:
"As a general rule, turn your sensitivity down to reduce excessive false signals caused by highly mineralized ground"

Taking the two statements together, I agree with dahut that it is pre-set to a very good compromise and is not auto tracking and adjusting to the ground.
