Fisher 1212 Find

I took delivery today of a Fisher 1212X that i bought from a fella on another forum. It is a simple 1 knob detector similar to the Tesoro Compadre except it works at a much lower frequency. I took it out in my yard just now to try it out and must say it does pretty good. It got a nice strong signal and i Xed it to pinpoint and started to dig. Took out a 3 sided plug about 4" deep and checked it again with the Fisher. it said the target was still in the hole so i dug another 1" or so and then came in the house and got the Garrett Pro Pointer. With it i figured out it was still deeper. I finally got to it at about 7". The blade on my digger is 6" and it was past the hilt. Turned out to be an old rusty weight set locking collar. Not worth anything but is hows that that old Fisher is capable of decent depth. Be a good little detector for someone wanting to keep it simple. I think i will stick with learning my Ace 250 though, so this one will go on the block. Here is a pic of the find.
