Fischer 1280 Aquanaut

Can anyone recommend a dealer or whatever that can repair my 1280X. The headset on this machine is built in and i accidentally cut the wire. Tried splicing it together but its just not right. So, does anyone know of someone who could replace the headset on this machine?. Thanks - (new York area)

if you run it thru a plastic tube such as a broken ink pen you can use silicone caulking in both ends to waterproof the connections.
Iv,e used that method on boat trailer wiring and never h.ad problems with leakage.
Summer is on the way out so may keep you searching for a while yet,than maybe send in for repair in off season.
I just bought a 1280x am eagerly awaiting its arrival,so I,m interested in any tips You may have.

I believe there is another insulated wire within the insulated wires,and hard to see. 4 wires ,total. splice all 4 separately, test, then waterproof. Hope that helps, its been 25 years since I had my aquanaut. sam in ms

In my experience, it is less costly to have the factory do the repair, instead of dealers.
