well,he first weekend is past with some very nice finds,,have a friend who uses explorer2 and has helped m huge with the settings,,anyhow we hit an old community hall on mon,,we came away with 1888 large cent,1902 5 cent, 1910 dime, 1917 large cent and a handful of coins in the 40,50's. Very impressed with the depth of this machine. Been using a ga##e## 1500 for the last 2 years,,no comparrison. minelab all the way,,will take time to figure out the settings,,i.e. constant chatter, but if these kinda finds keep coming,,i'll take the time to learn.

Semi-Auto sensitivity will knock down the chatter tremendously and hit NOISE CANCEL if your threshold gets staticky. These 2 things can really stabilize your Explorer and the goodies will come through much clearer...but don't swing too fast.

P.S. I also used to use a Garrett. Very clear sound and excellent discrimination but mine just didn't get the depth or target separation admidst heavy trash like the XS does.
