First weekend with the Deus and first gold ring, 10k

The ring was the 2nd object I found and it seemed to have a pearl on it at one time. Still learning the Deus but found out quick what the large pulltab with lid covers rang up as. Plan on going back this weekend and had a question for everyone. Do silver coins sink at a faster rate than clad coins? This swimming area had a large amount of change from the 1960s but very few quarters and no halves or silver coins. For the most part it was pennies, dimes and nickles and lots and lots of pulltabs. The concentration of clad coins everywhere would lead me to believe it had never been done before. I did also find a large junk ring with a cool see through stone. I was using the stock Deus fast program with the 11" coil.

Nice find! Gold !!!!!!

I can't think of a reason why silver coins should sink faster than clad ones. If the silver is deeper it might be because it has had more years to get that way or possibly if some soil has been added at some point.

The soil is a mix of brownish gray to hard, baked clay. I think there has been a fair amount of chlorinated water dumped everywhere since the nickels, dimes and quarters have a green patina on them. The coins we've found so far all range from 1960 to the late 70s. There are targets every few inches so it seemed to me that it'd never been done before. I took an AT Pro over it first and came away with several quarters. Were the large ring pulltabs with lid covers used for all canned drinks (beer and soda) or just one type? There are a few of the single pulltabs that open the can but leave the spout cover but they are twice the size of the pulltabs I'm used to finding. I plan on going as much as possible so I can learn the Deus and how different things sounds like. This ring is a smaller ladies type. The other rings I've found with the AT Pro were thick bands. Hopefully there'll be more to find. Really liking the Deus. Thanks for hollering back.

If you are working near tennis courts those large pull covers come off the tennis ball cans.
