First weekend with my Coinstrike

I got up bright and early yesterday to hit a old YMCA building with my dad. He told me had had secured permission last week.
He and I both have memories of visiting this place as kids. Needless to say I was excited of the possibilities.

The grounds of the place are very small. It has been divided up, and the large ballfield is now owned by different people. The fenced and padlocked gate suggested that we were not welcome to swing there.
Here's a Google Earth pic. The "Y" is in the lower left. Ballfield the entire right side.

To say that the small front yard was trashy would be an understatement. I found the coinstrike to handle these conditions well, but with 5 or 6 trash signals per swing, well...lets just say I'm looking forward to the little sunray coil! Really had to did iffies to get anything.

I managed a good bit of clad, nothing old, but did manage this unidentifiable button. It'll get a olive oil bath.

We then went on to a couple old schools. Saw another detectorist at one. He was swinging an old Teknetics. Not sure how he was doing.

Today I had the fever to get out for a couple hours. Hit another old school, but decided to go for an area I hadn't covered before. Only good hit turned out to be a tax token.

back when I was in OK. Haven't found any up here in MI, as the "tokens" were either cardboard or plastic.

HH from Allen in MI

Glad to see you got out Wayne. I had my new machine out all weekend...(Pressure washer) I bet you had more fun than I did! I found a tax token here one time, but what was odd was it was from KS or OK or someplace way the heck away from Carolina!
