First weekend hunt with V3i

My take on the V is a smooth easy machine to use. Slow start but ended the weekend with 3 wheats, one 46 Roosevelt, old button and $1.22 in clad. I was looking for deep silver and got the Roosevelt to end the weekend. The park is old and can yield deep old coins (seated). I was using the C&J with some minor adjustments and that goes deep. Look forward to using the HI-PRO and working with that. I'm really diggin the V! The Roosevelt will make 13 silver coins on the year and two of them are barbers. I love the forum and it has more info than the manual. Thanks again

While you are learning don't forget the on-board manual. Good hunt.

Cool start !!

Great start.. I really think you'll find the HiPro mode with a little modification based on advice on this forum to be a real deep seeker. I hunt almost exclusively with HiPro and it's been a great producer.

Glad to hear you're likin the v3i - the more you use it - the more you'll like it - awesome beeper!!

I suppose that depends on the user. The V3i is a typical White's well balanced detector, but it is about three pounds, maybe a little more. It would be noticeably heavy if you are used to swinging a F75. I don't have a problem with it 8 hours a day or more but I have always had a three pound detector... DFX, Eagle, Explorer and E-Trac.

It was brought to my attention that the V3i W/batteries is 4.2 lbs, which is still a little bit lighter than the DFX, MXT or MXT Pro. Sorry, I don't know where I got the 3 lbs. from.

One of my other detectors is lighter, but the handle angle and detector balance is not as good. This makes it seem heavier and is more tiring. Balance and ergonomics are more important then weight. Aluminum must weigh more than plastic.

Thanks ! I've started using the HI-PRO and i'm loving it. A friend of mine likes the V so much he sold his mxt-pro and bought him one.

That is a darned nice program right out of the box. I used it stock for quite a while before tweaking the personal preferences.
