First week with the AT Pro

Eric in RI

New member
Good evening all, today marks one week since I first got my new toy. This machine is awesome. I now strictly hunt in the Pro zero mode. I find that I really like listening to iron. Call me crazy, but I find good targets that are relatively close to iron sound way better when listening to the iron vs not listening to it. Just my opinion.

I hunted every night starting last monday. I didn't get skunmked at all the first 7 hunts, tonight I did get skunked. I was pretty much just digging everything above iron tonight at a school I went to last week. Now for the totals:

(10) wheaties
(1) 1942-S war nickel
(2) silver Roosies, 1951 and 1952
(1) sterling silver Holy communion charm, there is a date engraved on the back of 5-11-96
(1) .925 silver ring
(1) 10K gold ring that "had" an opal in it.

The silver dimes were a solid 8" deep. The war nickel was 6 1'2" deep and the rest of the goodies were about 1 - 5" deep. All in all I think I had a spectacular first week with the AT Pro. I seriously thought my first week I may find a goodie or two, but never woulda thought I would have found 16 keepers, especially in pounded areas that I've personally hunted for the last 10 years. I honestly feel like a pro when I use the machine. Thank you all for your tips and suggestions, it definitely worked to my advantage, HH :)

What I'm talkin' 'bout!!

You found more stuff in one week than I did the whole last season with my other metal detector. Outstanding job Eric, thanks for posting your finds.

I'm relic hunting at the moment, so my finds aren't as exciting as yours that's for sure.

Please keep us updated Eric, always like hearing stories (and pictures) like this one.:)

Hi coin hunter, I strictly use the Pro Zero mode, I run the sensitivity almost maxed out, all depends where I hunt. I keep iron audio off because I'm not sure what the purpose of it is when I dont discriminate it out to begin with. Hope this info helps :)

I was wondering what type of sites your hunting. I know you don't want to give it away specifically. Are you going to picnic grounds?, beaches? Playgrounds? Parks?

I hunt parks and schools as well as ball fields. Only been using the AT Pro in areas I've pounded for the last 10 years. Glad to see its producing keepers that I missed with my other machine :)

You're going to love it! I've only had it for 17 days now and I already feel like a Pro. :)
