I went to 3 different locations until I found a place that was somewhat detectable. This final spot was a combination of ice flows, a few open areas and ice mush! I wore a chest wader, and could only stay in 4 feet of water for short periods of time, as it was COLD!

Here's what some ice mush looks like. Long thin strands of ice that kind of stick together, yet it is possible to walk through them. In this scoop of ice mush was a bottle cap. :)

A fair distance out in the water, there was a golf ball sitting on top of an ice flow. Some guy must have recently fired a bucket of balls from shore out in the water. I did find a few other golf balls.

Here's the good, the bad and the ugly! Funny thing......not one bottle cap is identical to another. What are the chances? No cold-gold in the scoop today. I tried.

Here are the coins from today. A nice variety! It sure was nice to get out today.

Glad you got out, John. I'd rather get out when it's cold than deal with the intense heat in my area. Nice finds on the coins, but too bad no jewelry showed up in the scoop full of ice. A nice diamond ring would have been great. My eyes are playing tricks on me again. I thought the electrical connector was a handcuff key and the broken goggles was a used condom.
If any of you members start seeing things that aren't there, get to the eye doctor. I have a common problem for men my age and it's called a virteous tear and it caused this large floater that looks like a reverse C in my right eye and I see flashes at night. It started off with thinking I saw something and I would look again and nothing was there and then when the thing tore, I got this huge floater. It's common from age 50 and up.

Great! Man...this could be a year without the Summer..cool stuff, great variety, and like you said, interesting that no two caps are the same...must have been one of those fancy sampler 12 packs..
Mud

Good you could play in the ice cubes and get some goodies.:clapping:

Glad that you ventured out in the cold. Did my first water dig a few weeks back down south. Now if I could only get an AT pro that doesn't break down i would be in again. 4th time back to Garrett. After 43 years of swinging them only I should be a field tester as it would really get a going over
