First water hunt of the season

Well finding ols silvers is fun, but it lacks the gold tone i love so mutch. Finding a target wasn't easy because we heavyly hunted the area last fall, so where to go was the big issue.
I went out yesterday wy my hunting buddy Luke. We didn't had any plans once we hit the highway. So the first hunt was at a small lake i knew was emptyed for the winter. We didn't found mutch there unfortunatly. Only a couple of clads and a silver earring. I decided to share one of my secret spot with luke and i wasn't sure it was a good idea once we left the place with only one small gold in luke's finding poutch.
Okay, where next ? Well we discovered a beach last season that was only hunted twice and those were the very first hunt the beach had seen in 50 years history. It's small, a bit further up north but that ws our best bet.
Once we got there, you could see snow in most shady areas. The water level was higher than in fall, but we got our water gears and in the cold water we got! Well it wasn't as cold as when we broke the ice to detect!
Water temperature didn't mather once i got my first gold! I got a second gold and Luke ran into technical problems with his detector, and of course by solidarity... i continued a little more... then hit my third gold. Fortunatly luke fixed his machine and got back in the water. He found a second gold at the end of the day and I was fortunate to get a last gold (14K, weinging 5 grams) at the very end of the day. Targets were very scarce when we left. Might be worth a return, but only after the summer, to give it a chance to partially refill itself ! Here are my finds for yesterday :
