First water hunt of the season finds GOLD!!!....

My wife, daughter and I went to a state park today that has a nice swimming area but the place is hit pretty hard by water hunters. Sure enough the swimming area was free of targets. I went outside the swim area and picked up a quarter and a penny. As I was following my wife and daughter back in for a short break I got a nice mid tone in knee deep water. Scooped it up and BINGO third scoop of the season was a nice gold ring. Went back in and got two more coins and on the sixth scoop of the season a kids ring. Picked up a car, some more coins and of the 12 targets dug only 2 trash targets! Beautiful day, water was warm and just a good day out with the family.

Gold will always get your heart a pumping. Congratulations.

Awesome ring Mike! Thanks to your suggestion I am strongly considering getting the AT Pro. But first, I need to be sure I would use it enough to justify purchasing it. If I can motivate myself to get out at least once a week and I can enjoy it like I used to than I will order it. Plan on hitting a park or two this morning.

One good gold ring will pay for it! ( Justified )

...that would be nice! The only rings I found in the past were of no value. I hit the tot lot at a local park this morning with the IDX and picked up two more dimes and five pennies. Nothing old but didn't expect to find anything old there, just learning the detector again.

Came home and ran around the yard a couple of times but came away empty. My next door neighbor saw me and invited me to check out his yard if I wanted. Never have seen a yard so clean, only found one corroded mem penny.

Now I need to find some old lots and fields to search. Let the research begin...

Must be someone you know that owns one of them!

cool! congrats! what detector were you using?
