Hello all,
What unit would you recommend for a freshwater detector under 500$?? I dont really have more than that to spend as I need to purchase a scoop also.

Would appreciate any suggestions..thx!!

Garrett AT Pro, it is around $594 but you might be able to find a deal somewhere for cheaper. With that price range being so close to your budget I would say to hold out until you get the extra dough to get it. This detector is waterproof to 10 ft which should cover all your fresh water needs especially for a beginner (that is you prob. aren't planning on diving with it or anything like that) and it is also a great land detector as well. I can't think of another detector that would fit the bill more for fresh water hunting for less money. Research it a little, look on Youtube under the Garrett videos. Good luck.
