First Walking Liberty Half!!

Well-known member
Well it only tok 2 yrs; but I did it. I found my first walking liberty half. It is a 1944 d in pretty good shape. It was the last target I dug for the day too.It came in at dollar then switched to a strong 50 cent signal. It was down about 4 inches as well.

The hunt started as usual slow; only getting penny signals. Then a few qtrs; nickels and dimes. I remember thinking it would be nice to find another ring.I did it. I found a silver ring with the word love carved in it.I also found a monagramed pendent. As the hunt progressed; I got a broken signal; turned out to be a broken gold bracelet.Later a hit and dug my first Sac dollar of the yr.Then I got another strong nickel signal. Turned out to be my second silver ring of the day. It has a letter P on the front. Wont be surprised if my wife Peg doesnt claim it. I also found a 1956d wheat penny too.

Thats 2 days in a row that I have found 2 silver rings. Today was super; 2 silver rings; gold bracelet; and a walking liberty half; and a wheatie. Who would have thought when the day started! HH
Thanks for looking.

Congrats Steve!! That sure is some nice looking silver! I really like the Walker!! Good hunting, Beale.

Nice finds. The Walking Liberty half is, in my opinion, one of the prettiest US coin designs. Find silver halves nowadays is an accomplishment. Congrats on another good hunt. HH Randy
